FUNDING RECIPIENT Loon Estates Cooperative
PROJECT TITLE Water and Wastewater System Upgrades
PROJECT ADDRESS Murray Lane, Esther Lane, and Evans Lane, Northwood NH
WATER SYSTEM PWS# 1793020
The Loon Estates Cooperative has applied for funds through the State of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, American Rescue Plan Act Fund (ARPA) to finance a drinking water and wastewater infrastructure improvement project.
The proposed project includes a new water distribution system for the entire cooperative. A new well will be installed to provide necessary source capacity. A new pump house with iron and manganese treatment will be constructed to replace the existing pump house. The project also proposes to construct new subsurface systems across the coop to service every unit, and includes five areas where leach fields will be constructed. This property is located on Northwood Lake and will require a Shoreland permit. The anticipated disturbance areas are 1,384 square feet of permanent disturbance and 85,366 square feet of temporary disturbance, and therefore the Construction General Permit (CGP) will be required.
All required permits and approvals will be obtained prior to construction.
Whereas this project constitutes only a minor project and no significant environmental impacts are anticipated, a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is proposed.
